It has been a fun, hardworking, exciting and rewarding week of training here at the HKB Tustin HQ. I trained hard for 4 days straight with GM Lin, then took Sunday off to rest.
Some of the things I have covered in my training include: An introduction to the Impulse power 3d theory, Enhanced weight drop, a better understanding of the inside & outside Whipping, Correct Immovable elbow structure, HKB Blind reaction combat drills, Multi-opponent Reaction drills, 18 Suan Sik (HKB Combat Application / Separate Drills), Higher level Sam chain (earth & man) knowledge, Detachment of mind (emotion) & body (wheel bearing) plus one of the Secrets of the HKB System = Tendon activation.
Eating & training with Sifu Lin twice a day is great, I am building a much stronger
teacher / student relationship to the ...point of meeting his personal acquaintance’s, hanging out with them and experiencing the non-teacher / true friend side of Sifu Lin.
During all of this we have talked about some of the higher level HKB Combat knowledge and skills, but aside from HKB. Sifu Lin has introduced me to skills that can improve people that have weakness in various areas of their life i.e Finance, Physical body (combat), Business Skill, Leadership, Social skills and I have had the chance to meet one of his teachers (non-HKB). This information has given me a new improved outlook on life.
On top of that I have helped to clean the school with the other students in preparation for the HKB Summer Camp, building strong relationships with the Tustin students and assistant instructors, helping teach them some of the Leadership material and having them to help me progress as quickly as possible through any Orientation drills that I have missed. Also teaching the children's class was great using the instructor material from Sifu Lin. Teaching Life Skills and Awareness.
I have now finally started my real training in the HKB Tim Kiao (Chum Kiu) Very tricky!! Much harder than expected (Like learning to walk again)
During this visit I had the pleasure of performing the traditional Chinese Student to Teacher Tea giving Ceremony (Bai Si) and thus becoming an official close-door student and Disciple of HKB GM Lin.
Best regards Sifu David Morgan
